Scotland's Secret Chapel
The Chapel at Old Churches House was uncovered in 1961 during the restoration of the buildings which became Scottish Churches House, now Old Churches House Hotel.

We are not certain of the Chapels’ original purpose, however, the architecture provides many astounding clues that point towards it being a 13th Century place of worship.

Following a sympathetic restoration, the Chapel is now open to the public. Inside the Chapel you will find storyboard about the architectural clues, enabling visitors from near and far to learn about and understand the fascinating history of Scotland's Secret Chapel.

Steeped in history, the rounded stone ceiling set with starry lights, beautiful solid stone walls, a standing cross and circular wooden benches, make this a unique and endearing place to visit.

Open Daily 10am - 4pm (will be temporarily closed for weddings, christening and blessings taking place)
