Upgrade to an Executive Room, some with views over the garden, or treat yourself to a Feature or Four Poster room with canopied bed. Interconnecting rooms are available, as are family rooms, which can accommodate two adults and two children under 12.

The Swan Hotel also has a ground floor accessible bedroom. All rooms are located on the first and second floor of the hotel.

CLASSIC ROOMS
After your day exploring the Lake District, relieve tired muscles with a long soak in your bathtub. Watch TV from the comfort of your bed, then sleep soundly in a comfortable Classic Room at our historic Macdonald Swan Hotel. Dogs are allowed in the Classic bedrooms at a small nightly fee.

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in Executive or Feature Room.

With all the features of a Classic bedroom, most of Macdonald Swan Hotel's newly refurbished Executive bedrooms offer breath-taking views across the surrounding countryside.

FEATURE ROOMS
Your visit to the Lake District will be even more memorable with a stay in one of Macdonald Swan Hotel's Feature bedrooms which have been beautifully refurbished as part of a £350,000 transformation. Each with its own very unique character, these spacious rooms offer simply stunning views of either the nearby garden or fells. After a day exploring the local surroundings, ease weary legs in the large bath or relax in the new walk-in shower.

ACCESSIBLE ROOM
The comfortable Classic accessible bedroom is located on the ground floor of the main hotel with twin beds or a king-sized double bed. This room also has a wet room, hanging alarm strings, wider doors and grab rails in the bathroom.

Classic Britain's children’s rates do not apply for Family rooms at the Swan Hotel. Children’s Rates are:
0 - 4 year: Free of Charge pays for meals as taken.
5 - 12 years: £15 per child per night Bed & Breakfast. (All other meals are paid for as taken)

At the Macdonald Swan Hotel in Grasmere the freshest, seasonal ingredients are sourced from the British larder. The menus feature an ever-growing selection of organic food and drink. Dine on traditional Lakeland favourites with a modern twist in the welcoming Waggoner's Restaurant.

For a more relaxed dining experience, unwind in the comfortable Green Lounge with tea or coffee, a light meal and sumptuous dessert. Rest your eyes on the views across the garden and over to Helm Crag.

The Waggoner's Rest
There's a very special dining atmosphere in the Waggoner's Restaurant. After a pre-dinner drink in the Walkers' Bar, enjoy a candlelight meal of tempting British dishes, made with the freshest, seasonal produce including temptations like slow-braised wild rabbit and leek stew with new potatoes and chive dumplings. In the morning, set yourself up for the day with a delicious, hearty breakfast.

Walkers' Bar
With its deep red walls and wooden floor, the Walkers' Bar is a relaxed haven for walkers and locals alike. Sit by the open fire for a comforting plate of homemade fish pie or wild rabbit stew from the traditional British menu. Enjoy the bar's genial atmosphere and admire stunning views over Helm Crag and Seat Sandal. On fine days, soak up the sunshine in the secluded beer garden.
