Bar & Restaurant

tick Outdoor Dining Terrace

The Glencoe Inn restaurant offers splendid views across Loch Leven and St. Munda's Isle, the burial ground of the ill fated MacDonalds and out to the Morvern Hills in the west. Frequently you can see sailing boats out on the loch from the Ballachulish sailing club.

The restaurant menu offers a great variety fresh local fish and seafood. Mussels, scallops and langoustines are all available, cooked simply to allow the taste of what can be argued as some of the best Scottish seafood to shine through. Also on offer are hearty, filling meals such as steak and chips or the delicious Glencoe Burger; unique to The Glencoe Inn it is served with Parma ham and Mull of Kintyre cheddar. For dessert, choose a comforting apple crumble with custard or the decadence of a chocolate fudge cake. There is also a selection of fine Scottish cheeses.

Food served:
Breakfast: 8am – 9.30am
Lunch (The Glencoe Gathering, adjacent to the Inn ): 12noon-3pm

As a Scotch Whisky Embassy the bar stocks a wide selection of whiskies from around Scotland and the trained staff will be happy to guide you through the subtle differences between the strong flavoured malts from Islay to the neutral flavours of the Lowlands. The hotel also has its own 10yr old single malt 'Glencoe Inn Dram'.

The bar also has a selection of Scottish ales and lagers on tap with rolling ale of the month. An extensive wine list is available from easy drinking sauvignons to full body merlots. Favourite spirits are on the shelf as a cool aperitif as are liqueurs, enjoyable after a good meal.

Boot Room
The Glencoe Inn is able to offer those who have walking and climbing equipment an area to dry out their things for the next day in the dedicated Boot Room. Kept at a constant warm temperature, the Boot Room means that equipment can be left securely overnight to dry out, without taking up space in the bedroom. Another advantage for those who enjoy the outdoors is the separate shower room. If you have been camping, pop in for a bite to eat and a hot shower.

Glencoe’s main attraction is its scenery...it’s a Scottish Hollywood! For almost 70 years film makers have flocked here to try and incorporate the scenery’s jaw-dropping grandeur into their movies. Globally famous movies filmed in and around the area include The 39 Steps, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Braveheart, Rob Roy, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Skyfall...you get the idea.

There’s a choice of water sports available on the lochs and miles of rugged mountain biking terrain (with bike hire in the village) plus winter sports include skiing, snowboarding and rock and ice climbing. In fact we’re home to the world’s largest indoor ice wall, at the Ice Factor in Kinlochleven, AND the highest mountain in the British Isles, Ben Nevis in Fort William.

For a more laid back approach, spend the day fishing (there’s superb salmon fishing in the Rivers Coe and Orchy) or make some new friends and join the bird watchers, botanists and wildlife enthusiasts who all flock to Glencoe for its literally breathtaking landscape.

If you have kids be sure to pop into the award-winning Glencoe Visitor Centre (1½ miles south), with its interactive fun stuff to do for kids and adults. There’s a shop and café too selling irresistible homemade cakes...
