The Best Western Shap Wells Hotel in Penrith is located in a secluded and tranquil valley high in the fells and is easily reached from all the major cities in the North of England as well as Edinburgh & Glasgow. On approaching the Shap Wells Hotel, near Penrith down the 1-mile private road, you will soon be aware that it is a grand hotel, and has been so for over 100 years. On entering the Shap Wells Hotel, there is a totally relaxing atmosphere, with an open fire in the foyer, and a well-appointed bar and restaurant.
Significant re-investment has taken place recently. There is a new bar, the public areas have all been upgraded and so too have many of the bedrooms. Its stand-alone location, makes it a particularly good place to stay if you want to get away from it all, but has easy access to the Lake District ( Kendal is only 15 miles away), and the North Yorkshire Dales.
